I painted the classic Bauhaus Hussar Kapitan:
I painted it ispired by its classic original paint scheme:
Today I played my second game with the old Warzone first edition.
The scenario was again simple: two forces that fight until one surrender or it is defeated.
Not satisfied about the bad end of my brotherhood force in my first game, I decided to do some changes, like including a Pilgrim Executioner. Then I painted one.
A groupshot of the updated brotherhood force:
BROTHERHOOD (9 models), 500pt
"ArchBishop Arles" w/violator, staff of casting, force shield
Art Aspects: kinetics, elemental, exorcism (99pt)
Pilgrim Executioner w/power shields, power stabilizer, Art aspect: Mentalism (69pt)
"Crimson Furies" (Fury Elite Guard) Squad (176pt)
2 Furies w/Deliver and Punisher, Great Coordination, Long Legs, Pain Resistant (112pt)
x1 Sergeant w/Deliver and Punisher, close combat training, Great Coordination,
Long Legs, Pain Resistant (64pt)
Pilgrims Squad (156pt)
4 Pilgrims w/Converter w/grenade launcher type II (AP) and Nemesis
I was not completely satisfied about the alternative acolytes I painted. (void militia). They are nice models but smaller than I like, then they don't blend well with the other bigger WZ miniatures. Then I decided to paint some capitol miniatures as acolytes or maybe corporate heretics. I painted an undead legionnaire as heretic legionnaire too.
Here a groupshot of the updated semai force:
The two forces move for two turns with caution. The Cybertronic player is eager to keep his distance, fearing the hand to hand combat. The Brotherhood player use the Art spell of "Elemental Wall" as a cover from enemy fire for his advancing forces.
Finally the Cybertronic player see an opportunity and open fire with his attila squad, defeating 3 pilgrims.
The Brotherhood player active the lone pilgrim and Teleport it near the Cybertronic Ehnanced Chasseur, hoping to defeat it with his armor piercing grenades. But the pilgrim fails.
The Cybertronic player continue to avoid confrontation. The Brotherhood player chases him.
After a brutal firing, the Fury squad and an Attila are defeated. Another attila is damaged.
The last pilgrims is defeated. Now the ArchBishop is alone.
For some turns the Brotherhood player try to use his Art spells to dominate the attila specialist, then he could use it to open fire to the cybertronic team, but the attila resists. Then after receiving two wounds and cured two the brotherhood played decide to retreat, leaving the victory to the Cyertronic.
ArchBishop Arles: "The forces of darkness have temporarily prevailed, but the Light will triumph!"
I've painted four Pilgrims for my Brotherhood force, here a groupshot of it. It is a 500 points army list from Warzone 1st edition.
BROTHERHOOD (8 models), 500pt
ArchBishop Arles (Cardinal Dominic) (175pt)
"Crimson Furies" (Fury Elite Guard) Squad w/scanner (186pt)
2 Furies w/Deliver and Punisher, Fearless, Very Strong, Pain Resistant (112pt)
x1 Sergeant w/Deliver and Avalanche, Command Helmet, Close combat training, Fearless,
Very Strong, Pain Resistant (71pt)
Pilgrim Squad w/scanner (139pt)
4 Pilgrims w/Converter and Nemesis, w/grenade launcher (frag)
For the paint scheme of the pilgrims I was ispired by the new pilgrim paint scheme from a recent RPG Brotherhood Sourcebook:
I painted the last two models for the squad of Fury Elite Guards:
A groupshot of the ArchBishop Arles with his bodyguard of furies.
Here a really old project. If I remember well I thought about it at least 20 years ago (or even more).
Actually my idea was simple, to convert the head of the first edition cardinal dominic as the helm with mask of the main villain from the Knights of the Zodiac (Saint Seiya) cartoon: Pope Ares. I'm not good with green matter, then I have commissioned the conversion and then painted the miniature.
Here the "ArchBishop Arles" an high ranking member of the Brotherhood Curia.
I was ispired for the paint scheme by the original character of Pope Ares:
I painted some proxy miniatures from the Void Militia as Dark Legion Acolytes.
A groupshot of the Dark Legion Semai Force, finally complete:
I painted a proxy miniature from a Void Militia Leader as a Semai Heretic.
I was ispired by the paint scheme of the Heretic Hayla from the "Luna City" tale:
