[Sellswords] Battle Report: The call of the chaos beast

Today I played the seventh scenario of my Solo campaign of "Sellswords & Spellslingers". The basic scenario was ispired, with some minor changes, from the rulebook: The Summoning of an ancient Evil pg50.

An Orc Shaman is summoning a Chaos Beast: a Manticore. The PCs must try to prevent this.

Mudagog, the Orc Shaman, was angry. Some strangers had violated his domains and killed many of his minions. Their leader is a powerful Purple Sorcerer and should not be underestimated. He decided to
subdue, with a shamanic ritual, a Manticore. Then the chaos beast will hunt and kill his enemies.
He was at the height of the ritual when the shake of his minions distracted him. The Purple Sorcerer was coming!
Mudagog: "Gorka and Morka curse him! It's too soon! I need time to finish the ritual! Greenskin's brothers, stop them!"
Mudagog has few hopes about his greenskin minions, but maybe they could live enough to gain some time to complete the ritual.

Mudagog, the Orc Shaman, and his minions:

Amron and his cabal advance toward the ancient ruins.
An ambush of a goblin is quickly resolved by the Twins.
Amron: "Move fast, you fools! The ritual of that impious creature should be stopped!" 😣

Another goblin ambusher is finished by the Twins, while three goblins are burned by the fireball of Amron.

Grogmilda charge impetuously the orc shaman, but a magic force field reject her and Mudagog injure her with a magic shot.
Grogmilda: " Coward pig! Face me like a real orc! Do not hide yourself behind the magic!" 😀

Amron is charged by an horde of orcs and receive two wounds, however he kill an orc and two more are slained by daethskar after he yet killed three goblins who dared to charge him.
Amron: "Wretched beggars! How did they dare to raise their filthy blades on me?!" 😠

Grogmilda finally break the magic force field and charge Mudagog, seriously injuring him.
Grogmilda: "Finally! You are mine, now! You will perish on the blade of my axe!" 😈
Mudagog: "Stupid half-breed brat! You can't defeat the true power!" 😑

Unfortunatelly is too late, the Manticore is finally recalled while Grogmilda is defeated and the killed by a good hit from Mudagog. However Mudagog (and another goblin) himself is defeated by a fireball of Amron.
Mudagog: "Silly girlie! You almost killed me, but you are dead meat now, and your master is doomed too!" 😠 Then he flees to lick his wounds in his hideout.

The Manticore charge Daethskar. The titanic fight begins.

Amron try to cast a fireball, but the magic winds betray him and he could not cast fireballs anymore.
Amron: "Damn misfortune! I've lost my magical powers! Right now in the moment of the decisive battle! The gods know how to be mocking." πŸ˜”

Amron decides that Grogmilda is a precious ally, too useful to leave her dead, then order to the Twins to save the body, later he will resurrect her.
The Twins: "We don't understand why save dead meat (and don't eat it), but we obey."

Seen himself useless without his fireball spell, Amron decide to take the body of Grogmilda personally, while the Twins charge the Manticore.
Amron: "What a humiliation, having to bear this weight!" 😞

Amron continue to move away from the fight, a goblin try to shot him with his short bow, but he dodge it. The fight continue, the twins lost two wounds, while daethskar one. The Manticore has still two wounds.
Amron: "That arrow was too close!" πŸ˜“

Finally, with a powerful and lucky blow, Daethskar kill the Manticore

Amron painfully drag the body of Grogmilda out of the board.
Amron: "Well done Daethskar, as always you are my most trusted minion! Then we must rest and take care of our many injuries. I will pay many coins for the resurrection of this green big woman, I hope it will be a good investment for the future, at least." πŸ˜’

The PCs gain a reward of 8xp. Amron pay 500 silver pieces for the resurrection of Grogmilda.
