[Pulp Alley Battle Report] Star Wars - The Red Shadow

Today I played a SOLO Pulp Alley game with my West End Games Star Wars miniatures (and proxies).
I was the Imperial player while I used Luke Skywalker as bot. The Major Plot point is Luke Skywalker, if he can flee from the other side of the board he is save. The Imperial league must defeat him to win the scenario.

Background:

Timeline 0 ABY (c. 3 months after the Battle of Yavin)

"The emperor Palpatine, doubting the reliability of darth vader in the search for his son, instructs one of his best agents, The Emperor's Hand Damon Gul Reda,  to capture and lead in his presence the man who destroyed the Death Star.
Gul Reda hire the Bounty Hunter Ranna and with her help he determines the route of the Skywalker's X-Wing. Gul Reda with his Star Destroyer Interdictor Kraken, intercepts the X-Wing of Skywalker. Chased from TIE Fighters, Luke must do an emergency landing in an unknown planet and there he is rescued by Nala, a young devaronian girl castaway, survived years ago to the crash of her parents' ship. Skywalker promises to take her away from the planet, when his starfighter will be repaired. However Guld Reda land with a special force of Stormtrooper guided by Ranna and approaches to capture Skywalker."

Major Plot Point: Luke Skywalker

The imperials move towards their prey, unluckily one of the Stormtrooper encounters an unexpected peril and he is down.

Luke run with his new friends, hoping to escape the pursuers.
Luke: "I sense an anomaly in the Force... The leader of the imperial forces is an abomination, I must avoid him before it is too late!"

The Stormtrooper specialist fire on the rebel group, defeating the raptor hound, however he is rushed by Luke and defeated himself.

Guld Reda: "Skywalker is fleeing! We must stop him!"

Gul Reda paralyzes luke preventing him from moving and dodging, then he is down by the concentrated fire of Ranna and the last two stormtrooper. Furious, Nala charge Gul Reda but she is down too (but will recover).
Gul Reda: "Skywalker is helpless,
it's our chance to catch him."

Luke and Nala are again down, while Ranna has almost reached Skywalker.

Finally Ranna reaches Skywalker, wins the challenge and the boy is her prisoner.
Ranna: "The prey is finally mine..."

Gul Reda: "Well done Ranna, the Emperor will be pleased. Now Skywalker will meet his fate in the presence of the Emperor."

The Imperial League has caught Luke Skywalker, the major plot point, winning the scenario.

  3. Hi, great things.
Having an interest in many settings (fantasy and sci-fi), I too would like to approach Pulp Alley, especially the cooperative aspect, but I have not yet understood how necessary it is to buy decks of cards for the game or even just to start playing.

    1. Thanks :) You can start reading the free download of quickstart rules in their website. There are two decks: one for normal cooperative games, and another for solo games (you can buy them or just print them). What you could need is the core rule book (second edition) available as pdf or printed book. Another useful book is that one for vehicles (if you want to use them)

    2. Is the solo deck necessary for cooperative play or only for solo play?
Are the rules for solo and coop play already contained in the basic manual of the second edition?
      Thank you.

    3. The SOLO deck is only necessary for solo play.
I still use the first edition, but all new rules with updates are available in the second edition.
